H1N1 Influenza (Swine Flu)

According to the most recent information from both the CDC and the Chicago Department of Public Health production of H1N1 vaccines are meeting demand.

However, please be sure to ask if we have vaccines in stock before making your appointment.  Alternately, H1N1 vaccines are reported to be available at many local pharmacies.

For the most current information on the H1N1 flu please visit the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Flu web site or The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH).

Vaccine availability:

  • The CDC has assigned distribution to the CDPH.
  • Initial shipments are reserved for the following patients:
    • health care workers
    • pregnant women
    • children and young adults ages 6 months to 24 years
    • people who live with or care for infants younger than 6 months
    • and people ages 25 to 64 with chronic health conditions.

Season Influenza (Flu)

  • Vaccine no longer available at NWI for the 2009-10 season.
  • Alternate facilities in your neighborhood may be administering vaccines (for example, pharmacies, County clinics).
